Know about your mental instabilities.

When we face an increased number of demands or view the demands that confront us as difficult or threatening, we need to make a judgement about our ability to cope.

If we answer our self "No, I cant cope", then you can face a distress attack. Having to much to do in little time; dealing with complex tasks without adequate training; promotion into a job for which we are not suited; having domestic problems at the same time can decrease your mind's efficiency to take load of all these thoughts in limited time. These were some of the examples which can cause you distress.

Distress can also arise from having too many demands to stimulate you, resulting in boredom and frustration.

Having too much to do or having too little demands that are similar to almost null can arise the situation of distress. This situation commonly arises when people are given the tasks to do which do not match from their abilities.


Now comes the EU-STRESS, EU-stress can be experienced when our abilities are efficient enough to cope impossible tasks and is confident to do much more than the required.

Although we have an imbalance here but this is totally desirable one. In this manner, eustress can be considered as a minor symptom of stress which is in the normal zone...

Notice that here comes a situation which is slightly different from that of distress discussed above. Distress takes place when their is a shortage of demands whereas eustress takes place when the person is fulfilled with demands and is confident, capable enough to accomplish anything out weighted.

Actually what happens is, Eu-stress give arise to a feeling of confidence, of being in control and able to tackle and handle multiple tasks, challenges and demands. This develops high alertness in an individual i.e mental and physical performance required to be productive and creative.
